A J Allmendinger won the Xfinity race at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday. Brett Moffitt finished in eighth place at the wheel of Cape Cod’s Chris Our entry. Our is a building contractor who resides in Harwich, MA.
On Sunday at MIS Ryan Blaney ended up the winner in the NASCAR Cup race. He was able to dodge a late race tangle. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 21st while Joey Logano of Middletown, CT ended his day badly as he was a casualty of that late race crash. Prior to all that Logano was in the hunt all afternoon. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT ended his day in 24th position. The NASCAR Circus heads to Daytona Beach next weekend
Bob Tasca, III of Hope, RI thought that he was in top form in the NHRA National at Brainard, MN. However, it wasn’t to his liking.
Unlike in the Top Fuel class, no one has locked in the No. 1 Countdown seeding in the Funny Car category. But Matt Hagan and his Brainerd semifinal victim, Bob Tasca III, scrambled the standings again.
Hagan took the points lead from Topeka winner John Force, and Tasca – who had led virtually all season long until two races ago – vaulted back into contention, tied with JR Todd for second place. The top five racers in Funny Car – Hagan, Tasca, Todd, Force, and Ron Capps – are separated by a maximum of 25 points heading into Indianapolis.
