How New England drivers Did Over the Weekend…

The NASCAR Trucks were in action at the Knoxville ,Iowa on the dirt again.   Austin Hill came out of that one with the checkered flag.

Brett Moffit wasn’t as fortunate. Moffitt got caught up in wreck when he got tangled up in the soft cushion near the wheel fence and ended up 38th.  Several other Camper’s World Truck Series drivers suffered the same fate.  Moffitt also drives a Xfinity entry for Chris Our of Cape Cod and lives in W. Harwich, MA.
Elsewhere the Xfinity Series was performing at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in GA on Saturday. Kyle Busch took another one on Saturday while Brett Moffit was able to redeem himself after Knoxville with a sixth place in the Chris Our machine. It wasn’t a good day for Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT either as he ended up 33rd.
In the Cup race on Sunday as Kyle Busch went two for two at Atlanta taking that win.  Joey Logano of Middletown, CT missed out as a top five driver and only managed a 19th place finish while Corey LaJoie came in 22nd.  Corey is the son of Randy LaJoie a two-time Xfinity champion who hails from Norwalk, CT.  Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended his day in 25th with Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT next in 26th.
The NASCAR Circus moves to New Hampshire Motor Speedway next weekend in Loudon which results in the New England contingent will all be performing in front of a hometown crowd.
