Speed51.TV to Broadcast Wiscasset Speedway Events in 2021

One of New England’s most storied short tracks will be receiving national exposure this coming racing season. Speed51.TV and Wiscasset Speedway have formed a partnership that will result in select events being broadcast from “Maine’s Fastest Oval” during the 2021 campaign.

Speed51.TV is scheduled to broadcast the track’s signature events — the Coastal 200 and Boss Hogg 150 — as well as visits from touring series such as the Modified Racing Series, 350 SMAC Supermodifieds and NEMA Midgets.

“Last year, we dipped our feet into the water with Speed51.TV and saw huge success with our live broadcast of the Boss Hogg 150,” said Ken Minott, Promoter of Wiscasset Speedway  “I’m excited to get this partnership with Speed51 off the ground and the chance to bring Wiscasset Speedway and our racers to a larger audience.”

“As someone who lives in Maine and grew up watching racing in the state, this partnership with Wiscasset Speedway is very exciting,” said Brandon Paul, Speed51 Director of Content.  “Ken and the Jordan family have done a great job at making Wiscasset Speedway a destination for racers and fans. We hope to showcase everything they’re doing so that race fans watching on Speed51.TV will make plans to attend events at the track this year and in the future.”

The first live broadcast of the year is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 24 for the track’s season opener, which will feature a 40-lap race for the Pro Stock division.  From there, the longest race of the season at the track, the Coastal 200 on May 30, will be broadcast live for the first time ever.

A visit from the ground-pounding Modifieds of the Modified Racing Series will be broadcast live on July 31.  On August 7, it will be a showcase of speed as the winged 350 SMAC Supermodifieds fly around Maine’s Fastest Oval.  A pair of NEMA Midget events at the track on June 26 and August 21 will also be showcased on Speed51.TV.

That will all lead into the Boss Hogg 150, featuring some of New England’s top Pro Stock/Super Late Model drivers, on September 5.

In addition to live race broadcasts, Speed51.TV will also be providing highlights and event recaps for many of these events in 2021.  The live broadcasts and on-demand video coverage can be viewed by Speed51.TV monthly and yearly subscribers.  If you are not currently a subscriber, you can sign up today by clicking here.
