The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season is almost here. Heading into the new campaign, there are many drivers who are keen to make amends. Among them are Kyle Busch and Joey Logano, who are keen for redemption after poor 2020 campaigns.
As the 2019 Cup Series champion, Busch failed to make an impression during his title defense.
Meanwhile, Logano had a good start to the 2020 season but tapered off towards the end of the regular season. Somehow, he was able to get lucky and sneak into the Championship 4.
In the end, the Penske driver could only muster 3rd position in the championship. On the other side of the fence, Busch’s Joe Gibbs Racing car ended the season in a disappointing 8th place.
So this begs the question, which of the two drivers will emerge ahead of the other one. Truthfully, this is anybody’s game, especially in the win counter. Last year, Joey Logano thoroughly trounced Kyle Busch, as the latter only won one race.
Obviously, the duo wants to make up for their 2020 hiccups. It is worth mentioning that Logano performed well at Las Vegas, Phoenix, and at the Kansas Speedway. In the Joe Gibbs garage, Busch could only muster a single win at the Texas Motor Speedway.
Both drivers are former champions who are eager to grab another win. However, they have to contend with a lot of rivals. Chief among them is the reigning champion, Chase Elliott. Others include Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, the returning Kyle Larson, and many more.
Busch desperately needs improved performance to boost his mojo. On the other end of the spectrum, Joey Logano is eager to go that one step further and win that second Cup Series title.
If it comes down to it, the edge should go to Kyle Busch, provided the two can stay out of each other’s way. This is because both drivers have often tangled with each other and gotten into squabbles for it.
