TV Times: Pogo Jimmie

Lou Modestino's TV TimesThere goes Jimmie Johnson!  What a difference a week makes.  He went from heading to the White House while racing at Kansas to the out house while racing at Charlotte!  Can he make it back into contention for his 6th NASCAR Championship as he now sits in 8th place in the Chase to the Nextel Cup Championship minus 34 points out of first place?  Time will tell.  Carl Edwards leads the points by only 5 with Kevin Harvick breathing down his neck;  Matt Kenseth is third -7, Kyle Busch -18, Tony Stewart -24, Brad Keselowski -25, then Kurt Busch -27.

Looking in the Rearview Mirror: Daytona

I’m sure as the changes were announced for this year in NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt and Jim Hunter debated the issue. As Speed Weeks arrived, the debate heated up.

“Tandem racing” grumbled Dale, “… not what the fans want to see”.

Hunter countered, ”NASCAR will adjust things so it’s not boring.”

After the Duels they both agreed it wasn’t as bad as they thought it would be.

AAA Texas 500 Winners and Losers

#11-Denny Hamlin won the AAA 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway for his 8th win of 2010 and the 16th win of his career, with the win Hamlin takes the points lead.
