Johnson on Pole in Dover

Jimmie Johnson rebounded from tough Sunday in New Hampshire by capturing the pole on Friday in Dover, beating out an impressive A.J. Allmendinger, who ran well during the May race and was a favorite to win before fading to 14th.

Loudon - Statistically Speaking

Kurt Busch tried to bump-and-run past Jimmie Johnson for a win.

What he really did was anger the four-time Cup champion.

“I thought, I don’t care if I win this race or not,” Johnson said. “I don’t care if I finish this d*** thing. I’m running into him and get by him one way or another.”

Johnson paid back Busch with a poke of his own in the final stretch to surge ahead with two laps left and win the Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday for his fifth victory of the season.

“For sure, that’s what the fans want to see,” Johnson said.

Can Johnson sweep? Will we see payback? You’ll have to watch and see. Let’s run the numbers and see who to keep an eye on at Loudon.

TV Times - Quiet Sprint Cup Off-Week Marred By Edwards/Keselowski Natiowide Series Fracas

Lou Modestino's TV TimesThe Carl Edwards/Brad Keselowski ongoing clash at Gateway Speedway in Illinois dominated the news in a normally quiet Sprint Cup off-weekend resulting in a major stir. Opinions are strong on both sides of the issue. Edwards’ retaliating against Keselowski for an indiscretion in the closing laps of that Nationwide race has to result in some major rethinking of the “Have At It Boys” attitude.
