Kyle Busch didn’t take a weekend off because there wasn’t a NASCAR Sprint Cup race on that schedule. Instead, he competed at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway, winning not only a Pro Stock support race but the TD Bank Oxford 250 as well, much to the chagrin of the other short track racers who consider this particular event their “Daytona 500″!

Kyle Busch continues to prove that he’s a standout driver as he was two for two at Bristol in last weekend’s Nationwide and Sprint Cup races. Altogether, he’s won five in a row at Thunder Valley! Even though he’s experienced bad luck in trying for the Chase To The Sprint Cup, Kyle’s definitely got “the eye of the tiger”. Love him or hate him, he’s definitely a racer whose driving style and personality are entertaining, just what fans want to see after paying big bucks for NASCAR Cup tickets. He’s bound to contribute to the excitement of the sport as the season progresses, and thus far, Kyle has a good shot at winning the Sprint Cup Championship.

Todd Bodine and Kyle Busch went at it in the NASCAR Truck race at Kentucky with Bodine coming out on top with the win. Bodine’s comments while in Victory Lane about Busch’s “dirty driving” resulted in the latter’s rushing over into Todd’s face, going toe-to-toe with him – no doubt generating some much-needed publicity for NASCAR’s third-tier division!

The All-Star race at Charlotte was Kurt Busch’s type of event.
He managed to dodge the bullets at the end and take the win in that rough-house race. Getting the leftovers was Martin Truex.
Earlier that day, another Penske team driver, Helio Castroneves took the Indy 500 pole and he’s got to be a a favorite to win another 500 this weekend. Continue reading “TV Times – A Busch Wins All-Star Race; Surprise, It’s Not Kyle“

There’s been lots of chatter and media reports regarding Danica Patrick moving to NASCAR. According to Auto Racing Daily, Jimmy Johnson has advised her, through the media, not to jump into NASCAR too quick. He suggests that Danica should start out on the short tracks with a Late Model Sportsman to get her feet wet and gradually move up into the Camping World Trucks and then into the Nationwide Series before taking on the Sprint Cup Series. He commented that he’d like to see her in NASCAR and be successful.
