by Mike Wells ~ June 11th, 2008 @ 9:42 pm

What is the meaning of Father’s Day? Is it really about giving gag gifts or ugly ties? Maybe you think it’s about taking the time to thank your father for what sacrifices he has made in life and the tools he has given you growing up to help you succeed? Petty Enterprises Announcements Made!

by Mike Irwin ~ June 11th, 2008 @ 12:07 pm

Kyle Petty hosted the press conference at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, with NASCAR’s Brian France, #43 driver Bobby Labonte, Richard Petty, new CEO David Zucker and Andrew C. Davis, Managing Director of Boston Ventures seated at the front table.

The partnership between Petty Enterprises and Boston Ventures was announced.

Zucker becomes the first non-Petty to be in charge.

Zucker says he plans to expand to more teams/cars in the future.

Boston Ventures would not say what percentage of Petty Enterprises they invested in.

No 2009 sponsor was named for the #43 or #45, General Mills/Cheerrios will leave the #43 after 2008 and head to a 4th RCR team.

Bobby Labonte is signed to drive the #43 Dodge thru 2012 and says there are options for him to becomed more involved with the team afterwards.

Problems w/Stock Car Gazette

by Mike Irwin ~ June 11th, 2008 @ 8:38 am

I sent out a Stock Car Gazette e-zine edition for today at about 6:30 AM eastern time, and approved it not long after.

Apparently it’s stuck somewhere in the outgoing e-mail server, because I have not received any copies in either of my inboxes, and I figure that you probably haven’t, either.

This problem also might mean that you might receive duplicate copies of today’s edition, dated “Wednesday, June 11, 2008″. We apologize in advance for any duplicates.

You would think I would learn not to send out such large editions, but there was a lot of good stuff I wanted to send you today.

You don’t have to miss out on anything, though, because I posted today’s edition right here on the website. It should be right below this notice, or you can click here to read it also.
