The big news for today seems to be….

Gillett Evernham Motorsports announced today that they have added Patrick Carpentier to their driver lineup for 2008. The Quebec native and former open wheel stand out will drive fulltime in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series next year as well as select races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The car number and sponsorship have not yet been announced.

NASCAR’s Last Saturday Night Run Of Season Saturday

The NASCAR championship playoffs will be on what most of the race teams consider as their “home” field this weekend in Charlotte. The 500-mile run will also mark the last Saturday night event for the Nextel Cup drivers this season.
