It almost sounds to me like someone sat the boy down and had a good talk with him, especially when you compare his comments last weekend to now.
Earlier this year, I waited in the drizzling – then pouring – rain to watch the Sunday Cup race at Dover. When the green flag finally dropped the following Monday, my unused ticket lay crinkled in my trash bin as I slumped over my desk at work: exhausted, disappointed, $58 poorer, in persistently wet shoes. Yet this past Sunday, I headed back to Dover with unbridled optimism and was handsomely rewarded for my faith. I got to watch Kyle Petty hit someone… or rather slap someone… sort of.
For some reason the news is a litte sparse this morning, but here’s what we found from NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch Series, and Craftsman Truck Series news… Thursday, September 27, 2007
In my opinion, NASCAR is NOT playing fair.
It will be the NASCAR tornado making news this weekend in the land Dorothy, Toto and the Tin Man made famous. The third round of the Nextel Cup championship playoffs will be at Kansas Speedway, a 1.5-mile speedway that is younger than Dorothy was when she strolled down that Yellow Brick Road.

Sport Clips sends two soldiers, along with clients and team members to become race car drivers for a day Joliet, IL (Saturday, September 29, 2007) – Sport Clips, men’s and boy’s haircutters will have two recent Purple Heart recipients among 19 clients, stylists, team leaders (franchisees) and area developers as they take the wheel of an authentic NASCAR-style race car to participate in the MVP 500 Richard Petty Driving Experience at Chicagoland Speedway, Saturday, September 29.
Owner came away empty-handed from latest hunting trip Richard Childress recently spent 10 days in the mountains of Mongolia, stalking the biggest wild sheep in the world. The he returned home to chase another quarry — a fourth car for his Nextel Cup organization. Both will have to wait. Childress, a renowned hunter who has several of his kills on display in the museum of his Welcome, N.C., shop, never got a shot at the trophy sheep he wanted, and plans to return to Mongolia to try again. He hasn’t quite found the right combination for a fourth car, either, so any expansion will likely be on hold until 2009.
The 2008 Sprint Cup Series schedule was announced Wednesday, a 36-race slate that kicks off with the 50th running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 17 at Daytona International Speedway. The 2008 season also marks NASCAR’s 60th year as stock-car racing’s longest operating sanctioning body.
