NASCAR Stars Head To Hollywood
It is time for the second-round of racing this year from California Speedway for the Nextel Cup and Busch drivers. The first run at the two-mile speedway was back in February and many of us old-timers on the NASCAR fan wagon will watch the Sunday night race despite our strong feelings against the move NASCAR made four years ago that ruined a Labor Day holiday tradition for us.

JACK ROUSH’S MOTHER, GEORGETTA, PASSES AWAY
Concord, N.C. (August 28, 2007) - Georgetta Roush, mother of Roush Fenway Racing owner Jack Roush, passed away today at the age of 92. Georgetta Roush was a great fan of racing and was the designated owner for the No. 97 Nextel Cup entry from 1998 through 2005, including 2004 when the team won their first Nextel Cup championship. She was also the designated owner of the No. 26 Cup entry in 2006 and the No. 99 Cup entry in 2007. Roush is survived by her two sons, Jack and Frank, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
