The Chicago TV Ratings for the Cup race there are sketchy. Some TV Ratings from the Nextel Cup at Chicago on July 15, 2007 such as Zap2it.com reports the race drew a 4.0 rating with 4,478,000 households and 6,365,000 viewers, the third best of all cable programs. Last season the rating was a 5.2 when the race also aired on TNT. This report came from the Jayski.com webpage.

I was on vacation last week.
And by vacation, I mean near-total separation from any form of personal computer, both for my regular full-time job and my job as webmaster here and editor of the Stock Car Gazette e-zine.

… AAANNNDDD I’m back… somehow in our vacation trip to Townsend, TN, we ended up at Chimney Rock/Lake Lure, NC, a place I highly recommend, then we took a little side trip to Bristol to see the track there. Unfortunately, there was a race that night and the track was completely closed to anyone other than the race teams.

Track Trash – Indy 2K7
OK, he’s just teasing us. JJ decided to spice up our lives by doing another DNF and dropping another 2 places in the Points. And das Knaus was secretly saying “geez, I’m glad I wasn’t there. You can’t pin this one on me…..”.
Not a bad race at all, but you’d have to have ESPN to really enjoy it……
Leffler Wins Indy Busch Race, Brings Toyota First Series Victory
Jason Leffler won the Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park after a late race battle with 2002 series champion Greg Biffle.
Leffler, who won Thursday’s Silver Crown event at ORP is no stranger to the .686 mile facility. Lefler a former USAC Midget and Silver Crown Champion has won eight events at the track since 2002. This win was his second ever in the Busch series in 139 starts backing up his 2004 win at Nashville.

NASCAR Says The “Good Times” Are Now?
The Nextel Cup and Craftsman Truck Series drivers are taking a break this weekend and I guess the folks down at the NASCAR offices of Daytona wanted to keep the positive buzz going during the down time for the premier drivers.
