A Look Back At 2010 And A Look Forward To 2011 For Gene Haas Tony Stewart Racing

While Gene Haas Tony Stewart Racing did not bring home the Sprint Cup in 2010, both drivers will carry their momentum into 2011. Both drivers hit their stride late in the season and if they can continue that trend into 2011, Gene Haas Tony Stewart will be entering two drivers into the Chase. Maybe we will even see Stewart win his third championship or Newman his first.

Gene Haas Tony Stewart And The Chase For The Cup

There is a lot of pressure on Tony Stewart since he is co-owner of his team with Gene Haas. While Smoke had a slow start to the season, he did not disappoint fans by roaring into the Chase field as one of the hottest drivers of the second half of the season. Stewart picked up two victories in 2010, one of which came during the Chase. His victory at Atlanta just before the Chase catapulted #14 into consideration to win the Cup. While Smoke fell short at the end, he is poised to start 2011 riding on a wave of late season success.

A Strong Year For Ryan Newman

Ryan Newman battled hard all year long and just barely missed the Chase field, finishing in 13th place. His season highlights include a win in Phoenix at the Subway Fresh Fit 500 and four straight top 10 finishes during the Chase for the Cup. Newman has built up plenty of momentum for Gene Haas Tony Stewart Racing for the 2011 season.
