So, has Nashville forgiven Kyle Busch?

For the first time ever, the NASCAR Truck and Nationwide Series will run at the Nashville SuperSpeedway. The Speedway gained a Truck Series race after the closing of the Memphis track last year and will run with the Nationwide race that has been run there for the last ten years.

In fact, this is the ten year anniversary for Nashville Superspeedway. A pretty good present of a Truck race added to the tracks yearly schedule. Many of the Cup regulars are pulling ‘Double Duty’ over the weekend and hopes for many fans turning out for the event is hopeful.

Martin Making 1000th Career Start At Bristol

NASCAR:  Aug 01 Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500Mark Martin’s NASCAR career began quietly at North Wilkesboro 28 years ago with a 27th-place finish in his first Sprint Cup start.

While that effort was far from indicative of the star he one day would become, there were signs from the outset that the scrappy little driver from Arkansas had plenty of potential as he grabbed two poles in only five starts in that debut season in 1981.

Since then Martin, now 50, has proven to be one of the sport’s most venerable and versatile drivers. Through the years he has won 39 Sprint Cup races, including four this year, 48 Nationwide events and seven Camping World Truck races for a total of 94 NASCAR victories.

Hornaday Wins Five In A Row, Earns Sam Bass Guitar In Nashville!

Ron Hornaday picture taken by Steve LangleyRon Hornaday owned the track Saturday evening at Nashville Superspeedway to earn his fifth win in a row, making history in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Ron led 115 of 154 laps in the race, his sixth win of the 2009 season and his 45th career win in the Truck Series.

In 1971, Richard Petty and Bobby Allison both won five in a row in the now Sprint Cup Series. Ron can now hold the record of five wins with the other two drivers. Petty holds the all-time record with 10 in a row in 1967.
