Does anyone ever wonder if not into the too far distant future that Petty Enterprises might be considering selling or maybe merging with another owner? It makes me wonder if the move to Mooresville was for some not yet surfaced reasons too. There seems to be a lot going on and not going on at their camp.

I am wondering what is going through NASCAR’s mind regarding the #99 team.

I guess they are having a difficult time trying to figure out what penalty to hand out for the failed post race inspection by the 99 team.

Surely they are not even going to consider NO penalty. If they only take away 25 points it would be like no penalty. Nothing would surprise me though.

As a fan of Dale Sr.’s from day one and who always will be, I can’t go without bringing up the special Daytona 500 Anniversary win car they unveiled this week created by Motorsports Authentics commemorating Dale Earnhardt’s first and only win of the Daytona 500 in 1998.

I am fortunate to own more than one of those 1998 die-cast in my collection of Earnhardt memorabilia.

I have read only a few comments on the Internet since the running of the Bud Shootout about Mrs. Gordon, who was standing by Jeff and playing with his hair during the singing of our National Anthem.

I have read more comments in groups of NASCAR fans that I am a member of who this upset more then the news media it seems, including long time Jeff Gordon fans.
