NASCAR is placing drivers Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart on probation for six races, beginning with Sunday’s Daytona 500.
The punishment follows a confrontation between the two former series champions, who wrecked in practice last week and then carried it into the NASCAR officials’ trailer.
NASCAR says the probation stems solely from the on-track portion of their clash, when the drivers deliberately used their cars as battering rams.
Dale Jarrett will expand his role with ESPN and join high school friends Dr. Jerry Punch and Andy Petree in the booth for ESPN’s full season of NASCAR coverage in 2008. We’d like to give our typewriter logo a refresh or upgrade for the new 2008 season.
Our owner Mike does pretty well with the technical aspects of running this website and maintaining the WordPress behind-the-scenes interfaces, but he freely admits he is graphically-challenged.
So we need someone who has that graphical gift to help us out.

NASCAR Preseason Thunder Day 3: First Round Of Daytona 500 Testing Wraps Up
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., — The first wave of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series testing wrapped up on Wednesday with Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 M&M’s Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, on top both the morning and afternoon sessions.
In the morning session of the three-day test, Busch posted a lap of 187.786 mph and in the afternoon session turned a lap of 188.830 mph.
The fast test session was the perfect way that Busch wanted to start his tenure with his new team at Joe Gibbs Racing, which switched from Chevrolet to Toyota in the off-season.
It looks like the Gibbs team is doing quite well so far with their switch to Toyota, as Kyle Busch was the fastest in Wednesday morning pre-season Sprint Cup testing at Daytona.
A. J. Allmendinger, Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, and Jimmie Johnson rounded out the top five.
