Trevor Bayne is DEI’s best kept secret…until we cruise into the 2008 season. Bayne has been signed to accompany Jeffery Earnhardt as DEI’s development drivers.
Bayne was born February 19, 1991 which makes him 16 years young.
Bayne’s record is impressive to say the least. He has racked up over 300 wins and earned 22 titles in his first 11 years of racing…DEI has made an excellent choice with in Bayne.
Bayne not only brings talent to DEI, he brings his marketable looks, and his fluent vocabulary accompanied by his ease in front of large crowds and cameras!
During autograph sessions during this past season within the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, finding Bayne was easy. One just had to look for the largest crowd surrounding a race car on the track and you would find Trevor.
Bayne’s hometown is Knoxville, TN. His favorite color is blue. Being 16 his favorite music is rock (is any one surprised?).
His hobbies include paint ball, 4 wheeling and snowboarding.
I am sure that Bayne was not happy this past Sunday when the New England Patriots beat his Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bayne’s favorite car is the Chevy Avalanche and his favorite movie is Accepted. Accepted is exactly what this young racer will be when he takes to the track for the 2008 season.

Looks like teresa is trying to step out of the good ole’ boy days … everything Dale Sr. was about. Guess its time to start a new PR campaign against Dale Jr. quote “he (Bayne) brings his marketable looks, and his fluent vocabulary accompanied by his ease in front of large crowds and cameras”. Nice snipe to Dale Jr. Terese has forgot all the hype and money Dale Jr. brought to DEI which allows her to live her current lifestyle. Terese will always be a good ole’ girl that doesn’t quite fit in with the affluent.
Looks like some people will never wake up to the fact that Teresa’s not the wicked witch/stepmother that they all want her to be. They need some one to take the blame for poor Jr.As far as her taking a shot at him by saying something about this kids marketable good looks, how in the world could that be interpreted as a shot at Jr. One of the most elegible batchelors in the country, the vocabulary, well maybe so, I’m not a Kurt&Kyle fan but they both sound good & educated, sponsors like that.Get over Teresa, DEI belongs to her, Dale willed it to her not Kelly & Jr.

Ok, Ive been a Dale SR fan for as long as I can remember, and while he was building DEI and putting things in place, I remember him saying in MANY interviews, that he was BUILDING THAT COMPANY FOR HIS KIDS (as in DALE JR, Taylor, Kelly, (and I am assuming Kerry)… Did you watc the movie DALE that was aired on CMT a month or so ago…??! IN THAT MOVIE, DALE SR. SAID IT 3 TIMES THAT I COUNTED, THAT HE WAS BUILDING DEI FOR HIS KIDS!!! NO where did he say he was building it to hand over to Teresa!!!!

As to what Robert said, it doesn’t matter how many times Dale Sr. said he was building DEI for his kids. It was what he put on the piece of paper that is called a “WILL” that counts in the eyes of the law.
I was under the impression that Theresa had “controlling interest” and the kids all had some part of the business but I may be wrong. Does anyone know?
I am, was and always will be a Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. fan. been watching Dale Jr. grow up. DEI should have been left to his kids, not Teresa. blood is thicker than water. She needs to go back to wherever she came from. she doesn’t go to the tracks, only makes appearances when it suits her, and then throws a party at the end of the season to make nice-nice to the reporters. I’ve always bought Dale Sr. products, but after this year, I refuse to purchase anything that will put one penny in her greedy pocket. call me whatever you want, that’s just how i feel about it.
Jeffrey Earnhardt, Trevor Bayne, and another kid named Matt Martin. DEI’s future looks pretty bright to me.

All that I have to say on the matter is that DEI was built by Dale Sr with every intention to leave it to his kids once it was developed but unfortunately he lost his life before it could be done. I know that as a widow myself that if there is no will everything goes to the spouse. However, for legal reasons I could see Sr making a temporary will not thinking that he would pass so young and he probably felt that since Teresa was his wife she would do what he had planned to do all along but greed has clouded her judgment. I feel sorry for the company and the people that work there because DEI was Dale Sr’s baby and Teresa is slowly going to destroy everything he worked so hard for…it is just sad.

Robert Ezell: Yes I did see the movie, twice.& I was & still am a Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. Yes I heard the comment about building the place. However it’s pretty obvious according to many news reports who the place was willed to. But then I don’t know for sure & neither do you, unless of course you are personal friends with the family, which I doubt.my opinion is that he built it for his kids but they had to earn it, he worked hard for everything he had & probably wanted his kids to do the same, but what do I know I didn’t know him like most of Jr.s fans act like they did, everyone seems to know the inner workings of DEI,or they think anyway.Kelly & Jr. probably couldn’t handle that big of a responsibility anyway, after all Jr. Motorsports isn’t exactly burning up the Busch sreies.
Heven’t any of you people heard interviews by Dale that it was Teresa’s business knowledge that made DEI what it is, he depended on her for business descisions, according to several interviews.Of course all of you that were close personal friends with him will most certainly take exception with that.
Like Curt Melton said Dale is gone & he aint coming back. And Dale Jr. is not now nor will he ever be anywhere near the driver or man his daddy was.DEI belongs to Teresa get over it.
I just gotta ask, how do so many of you know what Dale Earnhardts intentions concerning DEI were, did any of you know him on a personal level, or just listening to reports from reporters who for the most part all have different slants on the scenerio. All boils down to one thing he’s gone & Teresa owns the show like it or not.I’m a Jr. fan but he’s just another spoiled kid that’s always had the best of everything handed to him, & don’t start with the bs that DEI was giving him bad equipment, ‘cuz that’s all it is bs, no car owner, or sponsor would allow that to happen.Too much money involved.

Thank You for writing this article.. I am Trevor’s PR rep and you did a great job accnowledging his talent. Prmarily you noticed his marketability and fan responce. Trevor is very accomplished and has really taken the youth of Motorsports by storm. It will be very interesting to see Trevor in the Camping World East Series next year as he looks to break the records of another youngster Joey Logano.
