The Chicago TV Ratings for the Cup race there are sketchy. Some TV Ratings from the Nextel Cup at Chicago on July 15, 2007 such as Zap2it.com reports the race drew a 4.0 rating with 4,478,000 households and 6,365,000 viewers, the third best of all cable programs. Daytona TV Ratings were vague as well, TNT’s The Closer was the top show of the week [7/2-7/8/2007), earning a 2.5, followed by its coverage of Nextel Cup Racing from Daytona, Fla. (2.2), and USA’s WWE Monday Night Raw (1.8). The Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway TV Ratings was held on July 7, 2007 according to digitalmedianet.com and the Jayski.com webpages. In 2006, the race was aired on network TV ,NBC, and drew a 5.1 rating.

Here’s what’s on the tube this weekend for the gearheads. On Friday Speed offers F1 Practice from Hungary at 8 a.m. At 2 p.m. ESPN2 kicks in with NASCAR Busch Practice from Montreal. The Duce also airs the Nextel Cup Practice from Pocono at 3:30 p.m. Speed comes back at 8 p.m. with Grand-Am action from Montreal. Saturday goes like this. At 8 a.m. it’s F1 Qualifying from Hungary on Speed. At noon ESPN2 offers Busch Qualifying from Montreal. The ARCA RE/Max race from Pocono airs at 1 p.m. on Speed. ESPN2/RDS/TSN all air the Busch race from Montreal at 3 p.m. Sunday goes like this. Starting at 6 a.m. it’s the FIA GP2 race from Hungary on Speed followed by the F1 race from that same venue at 7:30 a.m. ESPN2 has World of Outlaws coverage at 11 a.m. At noon it’s the IRL Series going from MIS on ESPN2 while ESPN comes on line at 1 p.m. with the Cup race from Pocono.
