What a CROC!by Mike Irwin ~ June 14th, 2007. Filed under: Product Reviews. |
No, “croc” is not spelled wrong in this case, although it really should be “Crocs”.
I was able to sample the latest in Crocs fashion recently.
Garments for reptiles? Hardly.
Crocs are very lightweight, soft footwear. I tried out the Beach model.
Weighing less than 6 ounces, these have got to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
I would equate them to the old “flip-flops” I used to wear as a kid, but these are incredibly more comfortable, and you don’t have that thing between your toes.
But they do sell flip-flop type shoes if you just can’t live without it.
According to www.Crocs.com, the top 10 reasons you gotta have them are:
- Really soft, super comfortable, molds to your feet
- Barely there, weighing only 6 ounces
- Vented so air passes through, keeping feet cool
- Non-marking slip-resistant soles*
- Bacteria and odor resistant
- Ultra-hip Italian styling
- Port holes allow water and sand to pass through
- Can be sterilized in water and bleach
- Easy maintenance, just wipe clean
- Orthotic molded foot bed for ultimate comfort and support
Being a Kentucky native, I didn’t have a chance to get to try these Crocs out on the beach, but I have no doubt they’ll be just as comfortable there as they were walking around my house.
You’re saying to yourself, “This is all fine and good, but what does this have to do with a stock car racing site?”
I’m glad you asked.
Crocs has just announced their “Racing” line of shoes, featuring:
- Jeff Gordon, #24

- Jimmy Johnson #48

- Kevin Harvick #29

- Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3

- Dale Earnhardt Jr. #8

- Tony Stewart #20
These would be just the thing for tailgating in the infield at your favorite stock car racing facility, or for hanging around the pool on the weekends.
Crocs also can be ordered with many collegiate, National Hockey League, or National Football League themes/colors.
