Track Trash – New Humpster

A great race in NH. How can Bruton possibly take one of its races away?

Robo: With the 7 car in a precarious position to fall out of the top 35 in Points, RoboGordo jumped back in the seat (shoving Kevin Conway back on his kiester for the time being). This is no time for Robo to be messing around, cuz he definitely needs to tie down the 35th spot (or better) during the Playoff races in order to get some breathing room for the first few races in 2011. Which proves that some race for Championships, and others race for the 35th place in the Points.

Ooops: Kevin Conway and his sponsor have been sued by his ex-team Front Row Motorsports for $ 2.754 M. I started reading the report, and it was so messy that I decided I’d wait for it to come out in video format. Thus far, Robo has not been dragged into this quagmire, but you know how lawyers get……..

Sponsors: Things are pretty bad in the business economy when drivers like Smoke, Gordo and Hornish need sponsors for 2011. And they’re not alone. Bad Boy Kyle may shut his truck team down if he can’t find sponsors for next year. The economy should have been turning around by this point, but it smells like it’s gonna take another year. Then visions of Pelosi’s face start appearing, and I have this urgent need to barf.

Da Race: For the first time in memory, the first 3/4ths of the race was more ‘racy’ than the final 50 laps. During the first half of the race, there were only two Yellows…..and then the caca hit the wall. The last half had 6 Yellows, and mixed in were some exciting tales.

Feedback: For many months, we’ve been hearing about Jr. [complaining] about everything on the radio during the race, and not giving adequate feedback to his crew chief. This may be true, but BadBoyKyle seems to be giving him a run for his money. Today Kyle had a non-responsive car, and went on infinitum about the poor handling. Matter of fact, Happy had several diatribes on the radio about mis-called stops, and RCR himself had to butt in to stop the claptrap. Each one of these guys are owner/drivers (although not often driving for themselves), and you would think that by now they’d understand the need for driver feedback. Apparently not……

Dinger: About a third of the way through the race, Dinger ran completely out of gas and went 1 lap down. Yet he managed to finish in 12th, so he’s got the will to survive adversity.

Hambone: With just 67 laps to go, Denny was spun by da Flipster, went from 4th to 22nd , and seemed like he was gonna be dead meat for the rest of the race. Not so. He amazingly got his act together and ended up with a solid 2nd place.

Ooops: Aiding and abetting the outcome of the race were Jburton and Smoke (ie., “Smokeless”), who both ran out of gas with 2 laps to go. Smoke had the lead at the time, so this was a real gamble on their part. The interesting part was seeing Bowowyer doing burnouts on the front stretch…..and about 20 yards ahead of him Smoke was barely rolling to the finish line.

JamieMac: Great job by this driver and this team. For a few heartbeats they were thinking they could steal another W.

Jr.: He actually finished in 4th place (thanks to Smokeless and Jburton running out of gas). Now, can he parlay this into other good finishes over the next 11 races? Stay tuned.

JJ: All I can say is ”Bummer, Dude”. (Of course, I’m smiling as I say this). After all (and saying this in my best Spanish accent), we don’t wan’ no stinkin’ 5peat, do wheee???

Bowowyer: What can you say about a team that jumps ten (10) places in the Playoffs? EXCELLENT !!!

Heaps of 3’s all over yer next heaping bowl of Cheerios (with several daubs of Hamburger Helper thrown on top),
