I am sure there will be news either later on today or by tomorrow as to what if anything will be done to Carl Edwards by NASCAR over what happened yesterday in Atlanta. He admitted in a post wreck interview that he intentionally hit Keselowski but did not think his car would go airborne. I guess we will know once an official statement is released by NASCAR as to what their decision will be after Edwards was taken to the NASCAR woodshed yesterday.
I have read many articles all over the Internet as I put my newsletter together this morning over what happened yesterday. I read lots speculation as to what will happen to Edwards by NASCAR, if anything. Some feel he will get a large fine and perhaps lose points and some feel he should be suspended as much as 4 races. One large web-site began a pole last night with how many races he should be suspended if any. A four race suspensions received the most votes with 47%.
It was an extremely dangerous thing to do and for Edwards to put other drivers on the track with him at the same time in jeopardy including innocent fans who could have been hurt in the grandstands as we saw in Talladega. Hopefully the return of the spoilers to the COT will stop the airborne rides these drivers have been taking. All news reports state the spoilers will be back on the COT cars for Martinsville instead of waiting until the Talladega race.
Whatever it takes to stop what we saw happen yesterday will be a welcome to all of the drivers. It was not right but perhaps what happened yesterday will be a good lesson not only for veteran driver Edwards but for Keselowski. Keselowski has done similar antics with other drivers he races against. So far that kid has not went out of his way to make many friends on the tracks. Gentlemen start your engines needs to be changed to Gentleman and ”Non Gentleman idiots” start your engines.
Have at it drivers was pretty much told to them pre season but that statement needed to clarified for a few who do not have the common sense to know what is ‘rubbin and racin’ and what isn’t. There are a lot of active drivers in each of the series who need to take a chill pill when they are behind the wheel. It is becoming like road rage on the track with no supervision. It has to stop before another driver is killed or perhaps seriously hurt. In my opinion, it is has become that serious.
The COT’s are safe as we have seen demonstrated on the track but things can still happen no matter what. Absolutely nothing is 100% safe.

Carl is one arrogant son of a gun and needs to reminded that he is not the only one on the track, no matter what Brad does.
Carl is a decent guy, but very frustrated. I don’t see how NASCAR can suspend him. It was they that said the drivers should work our their issues with each other on the track. It always amazes me what a human being will do when frustrated. And we are all human. Thankfully “the kid” is OK physically. He has much to learn too!
He should be suspended two races, but Nascar will not let the sponsor suffer, so he will get slapped on the wrist. Remember carl hit Brad early in the race when he came down on Brad’s line. Maybe Carl should run over his spotter instead. Carl “Swurvin Ervin” Edwards.
I’m not going to say what Carl did was right even if I am a Edwards fan. But this whole incident would have never happened if NASCAR had done something about Keselowski’s shenanigans on the track a long time ago. I don’t often agree with anything Kyle Busch says but last week while he was discussing his reputation and some of the things he’s been involved in he said he doesn’t wreck someone every single week like Keselowski does. He’s got a point there!!! I wish I had the time and resources to put a video together showing all the times Keselowski has gotten in to someone. (Ask Denny Hamlin!) If NASCAR punishes Carl for this, fine. But then I expect next time Brad ruins someone’s day being “agressive” he suffers some consequences also.
Ithink Brad wasnt down 159 laps when he took cry baby carl out so who is at wong carl knows
