The “Shy One” Behind Kenny “Herman” Wallace

But she really got to know Kenny when he came back from racing at Milwaukee, WI. He was all excited about how he had done and liking the area. Kim had family in the Milwaukee area and liked it too. But you can find out more on that and some other stories in “Inside Herman’s World” written by Joyce Standridge coming out May 15.
Kim is a stay at home mother for their three daughters Brooke, Brandy and Brittany. When she wasn’t at school activities or having parties for the kids she was very involved in getting the Kenny Wallace Fan Club going.
Going to most of the races, Kim likes to escape to the motor coach. “It’s amazing how peaceful it can be getting away from the house. The phone ringing all the time, seeing the laundry. Just time to myself.” Having taken up the hobby of stamping she uses this time to get a lot of that done. Kim stated “You’ll see the Wallace motor coach Rock-in and Rollin at night as we cheer on our beloved St Louis Cardinals.”
Kim’s favorite tracks to attend are Bristol and Richmond because of how well Kenny runs at these tracks. Loudon, NH is another favorite, because it’s one of the largest Kenny Wallace Fan Club events. Being held on June 30th of this year.
Most times Kim goes with Kenny to NASCAR RaceDay and watches him film the show til race time. During the race you can find her pacing the team pit area watching the race. “I’m not calm enough to keep lap times ,” Kim replies.
Kenny and Kim have given Brooke, Brandy and Brittany a very solid foundation growing up. Strict rules to follow, and openness to ask anything. Kim told a story of the girls wanting to go on an MRO ski trip after just having had a big Christmas. The girls were told they had to raise the money themselves. The girls worked hard with a garage sale, bake sale and doing yard work for people. They earned enough money to go and had a great time.
Racing hasn’t been pushed on the girls. But Brandy was talked into racing when she was with her cousin Chrissy. Kenny was excited about and went all out. Kim on the other hand didn’t want her to race.
The family rule is no appearances during December and January. The whole family goes on the Kenny Wallace Cruise (Dec.8-15, 2007). These are special times with fans, relaxing time with family and friends. Kenny will have signed the things during the season that are used during the cruise to keep things relaxing. Thanksgiving is spent in North Carolina and big family get togethers. They escape to their house in Missouri for a few weeks around the Christmas holidays. Family get togethers and holidays are huge for this family.
The Wallace family is recovering from the passing of Kim’s father Charles Poole Jr. Kim said, “With the help of hospice my Dad was able to be at home up until the end.” She’s thankful for the prayers and support of Kenny’s fans. Kim, Brooke, Brandy and Brittany thank you for sharing Kenny with all of us. Kim jokingly said,”I wish I could bottle Kenny, because he’s in such high demand by everyone, and sell it on EBAY.” Wonder what the going bid would be?

In regards to the # 2 car on Monday in the pits after the caution was out beause of the wreck with the # 20 car, my opinion;
The wreck was caused by the 2 car due to driver error and hard racing, no harm no foul. Under Yellow Bush attacted the 20 car and one of it crew with his car, there is no doubt in my mind.
What happens under the Green Flag is racing, but in the pits or under Yellow, assualts are criminal. Taking points and money will not prevent this. I believe that Kurt Bush should be held on a criminal officence by the county District Attorny and held accountable for his acctions.
I also believe the sponcers should show there support in rejecting this type of behavior by dropping the offending driver.
We all love great racing, wrecks happen under the Green Flag, but under Yellow and in the Pits is dangerous. What if that crew member wasn’t aware of bush coming in and we had an injury or a fatality? That would not have been a good way to put Mr. France to rest.
