This weekend the NASCAR Nationwide Series stars are heading to Nashville for the second time of the 2009 season.
The last time they were there, Joe Nemechek took a wild ride on the front stretch where he rolled his car and landed on it’s wheels and he actually rode around the entire track back into the pits and wanted to continue the race. NASCAR officials looked over the car and denied Nemechek to return to the race stating the car was not safe enough to continue.
The race, ran back in April 11, saw Joey Logano take the win after Carl Edwards started from the pole. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Logano slipped past teammate Kyle Busch with nine laps to go and hung on to win the Nashville 300 Nationwide Series race on the beautiful Nashville Superspeedway. The race was a battle between the Gibbs teammates as Busch and Logano led 172 of the race’s 225 laps.
Nashville is a fun place to watch a race and a very nice facility. The weather is going to be absolutely beautiful for the weekends race so if you get a chance, come out to Nashville and enjoy a great day of racing. Qualifying for the Federated Auto Parts 300 will be held Saturday at 1:35 p.m. and the race begins at 6:30 p.m. Details can be found at NashvilleSuperspeedway.com.
See you at the race!
