Another Arrogant Attitude Racing Weekend for Ole’ Kyle

NASCAR: MAY 30 Nationwide Series - Heluva Good! 200I do not believe I need to say the driver’s first or last name nor the car or truck numbers he drives in each of the series he is running in again this season.

Arrogant = Kyle Busch = Sore Loser and yet, even more.

I do not remember any driver being so arrogant and so untouchable as Kyle Busch is when things do not go the spoiled brat’s way. For one, he certainly needs to do a lot of growing up. I do not want to hear anyone say (but they will), that Dale Earnhardt was that way. 98% of the time Dale would talk to the media when things went right or wrong. Those doing the interviews might not like to hear what he had to say but he did not back down and run from anyone.

Tony Stewart has always reminded me of Dale and the way he has always handled the media. Tony does not back down and run away from post race interviews or after a track incidents that might take you and your car out of contention.

Oh yes, without a doubt, Busch is talented behind the wheel of everything he drives and he does win races. I for one would not want to be anywhere around him when incidents happen as they did to
him in the Nationwide race when his own teammate admittedly said in a interview post race “that
he messed up.” He tapped his stable mate and probably cost Busch to lose the race. I heard one of the commentator’s up in the Fox broadcast booth today comment that his crew chief would not even talk to him after the Nationwide race.

Sad that a rookie would stand up and allow himself to be interviewed but his partner on the track, Kyle Busch chose to walk away each time post race with his tail tucked between his legs. I thought it was very nice the way you stepped off the cart taking him to his motor coach walking away leaving your girlfriend behind. Very polite and courteous to her Mr. Busch. Perhaps your horrible personality and arrogant ways mean nothing to her for other reasons.

You need to grow up and face the post race interviews or interviews when the race is still going on and you are taken out of contention and face the media. You need to tell your handful of fans what you thought happened whether your opinion is right or not. Your fans deserve to hear what you have to say and not see a big crybaby walk away each and every time.

The bows you make each time you do win races is far from making you a role model aka mentor for children of any age., especially as popular M & M’s are to kids. Heck, I use to like them but it is a candy I have dropped off of my snack list as long as they sponsor someone who is so arrogant and not a nice person in the public eye they will stay off.

I understand it is your goal to win more NASCAR races then the record Richard Petty holds for winning racing in stockcars. You might want to make King Richard a role model or perhaps one of your fellow Sprint Cup drivers like Dale JR who you criticized so much. If anyone has a thousands reasons to walk away from a interview, it should be Dale JR yet he stands up and tells it like it is. He is polite gentleman he has always been whether winning or on a losing streak as he has been on.

It is my opinion only but those NASCAR wins should not be a combination of what you win running in all three series, Sprint Cup, Nationwide or the Camping World Truck series. Mr. Petty won those 200 races driving stockcars alone. Those are the only wins that should count towards your attempt in breaking Mr. Petty’s record.

talk about childish so you not gonna eat anymore m&m’s you [censored] bloggers or reporters if you don’t get your little interviews then you start name calling and comparing people to someone you really don’t know arrorgant go look in the [censored] mirror [censored]

  • Phil

steve – Your comment is just as bad, if not worse, than Kyles attitude. If Kyle was any kind of a man, he would at least talk to the media.

  • Brody

He had a truck race to start right after the Nationwide race….so maybbe that’s why he didn’t have time to talk. Also, Jr didn’t talk to reporteres about missing his pit stall twice in one race.

  • joseph worden

You hit the nail on the head about crybaby kyle. i keep telling my wife what a sore loser kyle is. plus it is a (nascar rule) that a driver has to interview with the media at any given time.what really is ticking me off is nascar is not enforcing that rule with kyle.i also notice other drivers move out of his way do to the fact he is a out of control driver and he is going to hurt another driver with his dangerous driving on the track that is why he wins a lot of races because other drivers are afraid of his driving habits kyle need to be kicked out of any racing before he hurts somone.he is even so low as to race in the camping world east and west races when he can.if he thinks he is so great of a driver then he nneds to stay in sprint cars only and let others get the chance at a championship in their division.and that goes for all sprint car drivers.stay out of nationwide and trucks.its about time someone besides me said what you said about crybaby kyle.this makes me feel real good.i was also right about tony jr not being dales crew chief, he can’t set up the c.o.t. if his life depends on it.im glade that mr. hendricks made the dession, that iv’e been telling my wife for a long time. work and family don’t mix. thanks for this artical you wrote from joe worden an earnhardt fan for ever

  • zuker

1 heck of a driver, but he does need to grow up

  • Mike

Only thing missing from Kyle is the little white string hanging out the front of his shorts.
    Heavy flow for sure….

  • Don

You hit the nail on the head!!!! Kile is an arrogant self centered one man team. He is just a big baby when things don’t go his way and just to make his self look better in his own eyes he has to knock other people. Jr. did talk about missing his pit, If only you other nearsighted people would see. Just like his dad he talks to the media and the fans. Kile would not talk to the fans at Mich. last year when he walked past them, Just acted like they were not even there. He blames all his problems on somebody else but other people create there own problems according to him.

  • Sherry

with people like you hanging around to push his buttons ON PURPOSE so that he will lose control and cost himself money and more importantly points after having problems I think he is doing the MATURE thing by leaving idiots like you standing in the dust sure Sr talked to the media he has even been known to kick them in the nuts cuz he was pissed off but back then drivers were allowed to possess a personality Jr use to be my 2nd fave driver but a majority of his fans are what caused 97% of his slide out of that spot for me anything and everything he does is 100% ok and excuses for him are pulled out of thin air while for Kyle all he has to do is have a little mishap something purely accidental and you people crucify him at least Kyle fans arent hypocritical if we see something that is a racing incident no matter what driver is behind it we call it what it is what reallt has you people upset is Kyle wont give you the chance to cause him to do something publicly so that you can cost him points because that seems to be the only way Jr can catch up to him for the record Im still a Jr fan he is just somewhere around 6-7 on my list of drivers thats mostly to his fans and a little to this his apparent lack of focus and desire this season

  • Culo

Well Becky you’re just WRONG about the big E not dodging reporters.. he was FAMOUS for it…
he got so well practiced at being the FIRST driver out of the track and to his plane in order to beat all the others to the runway that it even prompted Mr.France to be waiting for him in his plane one afternoon to REMIND him that the top 3 finishers are REQUIRED to speak to media…
I actually appreciate the fire within that doesn’t allow someone like Kyle Busch to be interested in discussing LOSING… he’s ONLY there to win… not hang out with his family/pit crew or even run 2nd….

  • caltenn

    Kyle Bush is a jerk..

  • cliff

Dale JR.. did talk too the media Brody.. he said he couldnt see his sign which they fixed.. either you didnt watch the race or passed out..Phil i’m with you on the nationwide race but what about the cup race the truck race?

  • cliff

sorry phil that was meant too brody too

  • drew

the man has no class, period!

  • Biker

I didn’t think Kyle’s comments about JR were all that bad. He was the only one to actually SAY what others were thinking and didn’t have the cahoonas to say out loud out of fear of the JR Nation and all the JR suck up bloggers and reporters!

  • Kevin Michaels

What a biased column. Hey lady, what about the adage, “If I don’t say anything, I can’t be misquoted.”? I’m a Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Reed Sorenson fan. NOT a Busch {either one} or Jr. fan, so I’m not prone to defending either, but…….with you KB haters, he’s d—– if he does and d—– if he doesn’t. When the guy runs well, he’s untouchable…when he runs poorly or has bad luck {ie:cut tire, mech. failure, etc} he has an attitude. As a former track champion crew chief, I’ll take the guy that gets pissed because he lost or performed poorly over the guy that says, “Oh well….we’ll try again next week.” ANY DAY!

  • Kevin Michaels

Arrogant is:when those in charge won’t post your comment because it opposes the original article…..

Webmaster note: I would say arrogant is being such a pain in the backside that you can’t even wait for the webmaster to approve your other comment before bashing him… but that’s just me.

All comments are reviewed and edited for language and/or other content before they are posted to the site.

  • h proctor

what a cry baby!!! jr is on a losing streak that won’t end, lost his crew chief, and has to listen to a nut talk about him but he still has time to talk to the media.

  • Flora Stanton

I did watch the race with Kyle and for one he does need to grow up.He will be lucky if he has a hand full of his fans or maybe they like his stumping off.I still beleive he is on a mission to win or else because Mr. Hendrick dropped him for Jr. and now he is making his off comments about Jr. Kyle this all going to kick you right where you sit just keep it up and you soon will find out this was just a start this weekend. Flora

  • laidback racing

Sherry’s right and I was a senior fan BUT he almost never talked to the media when he ran bad….I remember one time at the Rock the reporters were arguing over the scanner as to who would approach him for the interview….and what one said was “it don’t matter he isn’t going to talk to us anyway.”…..he came back a few minutes later and said “well all I got was the scowl”

I agree with whoever said that the media just needs to ignore him when he runs good and that will take care of that…

  • Sherry

you know, in all this bashing of Kyle, there is one thing convienently overlooked and pushed to the side, especially by the media because they dont want the world to know, if one paid attention to the footage this weekend (and I will admit I was one of those who missed it, someone else had to point it out to me) Kyle was TOLD not to talk to the media by a power that be and it was caught on camera, the boy was only doing as insructed, like mentioned in earlier comment, he’s damned if does and damned if he doesnt print the whole damn story next time not your biased take of it as for Jr talking to the media thats fine but he gets annoying with all the clicking of his tongue like he’s dying for a drink constantly even before they go racing, it is so hard to stay a fan of someone whose fan base is made of ignorant, arrogant, assine people (and I have seen this personally, takes alot of kahunas for a supposedly grown human being to cuss a child of 7-8 yrs old out for being a Kyle Busch fan, ughhh)you Jr fans need to get over yourselves

  • Randy Stewart

Kyle is definately an immature child. The idea that he doesn’t talk to the media after a poor finish so that he doesn’t say something that will cost him points is hilarious. Has he no self control? If that is the case, then I can’t wait for him to stop winning, which will eventually happen. Because then we will never have to hear from him again. Grow up Kyle!

  • Kevin Michaels

My apologies to the webmaster. I’m used to comments/posts being posted within an average of :30-:60 mins……..

Webmaster note: Apology accepted… we do these approvals as we can and we don’t necessarily sit at the ‘puter all day long waiting for comments, either. We do have a life outside of this.

  • Big Henry

Ha ha, Kyle has more driving talent than Jr or his Daddy. He doesn’t need to “grow up” just because he has decided the writers and bloggers aren’t worth his time. He’ll be winning championships long after Jr retires to run his [censored] bar….

  • Lori anderson

You said it all. I think when Kyle was a teenager he must have been an awful spoiled brat. I guess he never got that spanking he deserved. Needs to start acting like a man not a baby.

  • patty

Girl, you must be reading my mind, this is the 2nd article in a row that I could have written. Another thing wrong with the whole situation is the commentators that spend so much time talking about “the baby” that they are NOT talking about other, good, gentlemen drivers!

  • Rob

I’m not sure what the authors point is here. I would think that a responsible journalist would have a story to tell, events, to recount, and facts to present. It appears as though when reporters write about young Mr. Busch, the only event they can report is that he either won again or was the victim of late race misfortune and left without speaking to them. Beyond that they lose all credibilty when thay begin to make comments like “Kyle needs to grow up”, “Spoiled Brat”, “Immature”, etc. These are all conclusions that readers are smart enough to draw for themselves and not to be stated by a responsible journalist.

Now that I have that off my chest, I’m not a Kyle Busch. I do however, have a lot of respect for his talent. Do I believe that he’s hot headed and fiery? Absolutely. Do I believe that his fan base would grow if he were softer around the edges? No. Do I believe he would be called the greatest driver ever is his last name were Earnhardt? Probably so. But if were the softer more polished pitchman like Jimmie Johnson, you same reports and fans would call him boring. If his name were Earnhardt, writers and fans would complain that his 11 Cup victories in the last 48 Cup races were not enough, and there would be calls for Steve Addington’s job.

As for why he runs off after a bad finish, think about it, over the last four seasons, every time he gave an interview he said what was on his mind and got crucified for it. He’s in a darned if he does, darned if he doesn’t situation. The guy cannot even talk to his team over the radio without being scrutinized. If it were me, I’d never talk to the media period, most of the ask the same questions over and over again. I love it when a driver is getting out his care after a tire blows and he hits the wall hard, then a reporter sticks a mic in his face and asks “What happened out there?” I’d love to hear a driver reply with “are you blind or just stupid?” That’s isn’t going to happened in the politically correct world of NASCAR, especially if Kyle Busch continues to leave the pit area without speaking to reporters.

I think that may the rub with reporters and fans alike when it comes to Kyle Busch, they want to hear him say something like that, but not for the same reasons I do. The want to use his comments as further ammunition against him. That is just sad.

Lastly, do any of you people writing this garbage remember being 24 years old? I bet there a lot of things that you did or said that you wish you could take back. And you never had a camera following you around 24/7. Think about it folks!

Peace out and go Mark Martin!

  • Becky

Mike..I apologize for those who posted comments and used language not suitable for all to read. As with my newsletter that I do and I know it is the same for you, I have it to where it can be read by all ages if the parents allow it. I have young teenagers who receive my newsletter. For one thing, I would like to set all straight but it is obvious, I am not a professional writer even though I’ve been in the pits over the years many times in doing my part-time job beside the full time one I have and also being the wife of a lifer in our US Army. He is one who fights for our freedom like those in the past, our Veterans and our active duty so we may have this freedom we have to post positive and negative comments. Like me, I write how I feel about something from the heart as most do. I don’t write just to get something down on paper. I would like to say that it irritated me to those who assume I HATE Kyle Busch. I have NEVER hated any driver. I was a fan of Alan Kulwicki and many friends bashedh him as they did Dale. I wondered if they had a conscious or how they felt when both of these driver’s lost their lives doing what they did for WE fans. As with ALL 43 drivers each Sunday, it takes them all to make a field. Without all of them, we have no race to watch. I have more then one favorite driver, always have. I have never said that Kyle Busch was not talented. I believe I even said once again in my commentary he is full of talent. I heard the CC tell KB not to talk to anyone who is also breaking NASCAR’s rule to talk to the media. They need to be fined for telling him that but whether he was told that or not, he has done this at any race where misfortune has hit him. He walks away or almost runs away. Each driver owes it to their fans to be interviewed by the professional media. Thanks to each of you for your replies. I respect each of your opinions and will not lash out as some have to me for just speaking out as how I feel which is my God given right as it is yours.

  • Ed

Hey , maybe he just does not want to say anything that will cost him or his team any money or points in the so called politically correct world of NASCAR. So what if he does not talk he does his talking on the track and is the most exiting guy out there.

  • Jakk

I do not like Kyle at all and his attitude and I did hear the voice say do not talk to media because they knew he wouldn’t say anything nice. I also agree they always say all his wins, his wins should only be in sprint to qualifiy him with the great’s as Richard Petty and Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson and Dale Sr. Others. Yes he has talent but he has a long way to go to have the professionalism of the All the Great’s in Nascar..I also am in favor of the move of Rick Hendrick’s move of Dales crew chief,I am and always have been a Henrick motorsports fan..

  • Kevin Michaels

“Each driver owes it to their fans to be interviewed by the professional media.” I beg to differ. All a driver owes their fans is performance on the track. Period. It’s those in the media who think that they have a “right” to get a quote or an interview that have things screwed up & backwards. NASCAR mandates that the top 3 finishers must avail themselves to the media…not ALL drivers. The orders of, “Everyone, keep yer mouths shut.” was probably the sagest advice given to anyone on Saturday.

  • L. Bahan

Kyle Bush is almost enough to cause this life long race fan to abandon the sport !!! He’s an embarassment on and off the track.

  • Sherry

some stats a friend of mine posted on rowdy.com that I thought I would share with you and food for thought he may be an arrogant young “gun” but with these stats and given his age (my boys are 19, 20, and 23 it comes with the territory, get over it) how does ur PC correct, soft spoken, pasty card board no real personality driver (this is by no means in reference to all drivers there are a few somewhat colorful and/or very talented great drivers out there, I have about 8-10 personal faves) who has probably been racing for at least twice as long compare?

This is just scratching the surface, as I can’t do tons of research here at the moment, but here’s some of Kyle’s records, stats, and some notables.
He holds the record for most wins in a season with 21. Previous record was 14. (2008)
He is the only driver in Nascar history to win 2 Nascar touring series races in a day . (2009)
He holds the record for most wins in a rookie year with 5–2 of them Cup.
Holds the record for fastest lap time at California in 2005 and it still stands (188.245) and Las Vegas, 2009 (185.995) (Newman’s got a lot by the way)
He’s the youngest ever to win in Cup and truck.
He’s the youngest to ever win at Darlington.
Interesting stat: He has 14 of his wins at 14 separate tracks, only other driver ever to have done that is Lee Petty. Leaving Kyle with only a two time winner at one track…Bristol.
He is tied with Gordon for most Cup wins before 25 with 15. Tied with Sam Ard for most wins in Nationwide Series with 10 wins in a season, and tied with Cale for winning on his birthday.
First to ever win in the COT. But there’s more! At the same time he was the first to win in the COT, get the 200th win for HMS and get Chevy it’s 600th win in the same day-Bristol ’07.
    Stats:
In Cup –he has started 163 races
has 15 wins, 51 top 5′s and 77 top 10′s. Led 4,033 laps (oh yeah broke the record last year for most laps led in a season)
    In Nationwide–he has started 150 races, 24 wins, 62 top 5′s and 85 top 10′s with 5,610 laps led.
    In Trucks–he has started 60 races, 11 wins, 28 top 5′s and 43 top 10′s with 1,981 laps led.
and in Arca (for fun) he started 9 races, 3 wins, 3 top 5′s and 3 top 10′s with 267 lap led out of 679 laps raced.
So your grand total in Kyle’s career is …(excluding Arca)
    50 wins–141 top 5′s and 205 top 10′s, with a total of 11,624 laps led.
Little side note, because of Kyle you have to be 18 to race in Nascar, and because of Kyle, if you’re a race car driver in any of these 3 series, you have to watch your mirror

  • Cindy

My biggest worry is for his girlfriend. I hope the next thing we do not hear is that Kyle was arrested for abuse. She was smart not to run after him. I find his attitude very sad. He is truly a talented driver. His car owner needs to step up to the plate once again and give Kyle a reality check.
