Tony Eury Jr. is being replaced by Lance McGrew as the interim crew chief for Hendrick Motorsports driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., the team announced Thursday morning. Eury Jr. will move to a new role in the team’s research and development department. (SceneDaily)

I think it is interesting that it took this long for Hendrick to change crew chiefs with dale, Jr. I have thought for years that he was not the most talented driver on the track and needs someone that will just tell him to shut up and drive the care and the crew chief will fix the problem in the pits like Jimmy and Jeff and for that matter Mark ahve.
Tony moving to R&D? The cars Jr been given gave me the impression that JR was the R&D driver. Seemed like 24 and 48 were the preferred cars of the owner and thus given the best. JR maybe should have done what Smoke did and know he had the best equipment.
I feel for Jr. I know he had a rough time with what happened and how it ended at DEI. Now to have this happen. I worry this may fog up his head a bit. I hope he can collect himself and move on. His stats don’t back up his popularity at the moment, and I hope you can clear his head and dig deep and get out of this negative media spotlight.
