Thanks to the generosity of Revell, I was able to get a RPMz Racing System for my sons and me to “test”, all in the interest of providing YOU our readers with all the latest info, of course.

RPMz Racing System is a 1/24 scale radio controlled car, which, according to Revell, is the ultimate radio controlled (R/C) racing system that allows racers to customize, race, modify and race — over and over again.RPMz Racing System Features
- Complete 1:24 scale chassis and body
- Digital proportion steering and electronics
- Hobby-class transmitter with acceleration and steering trim controls
- Four frequency crystals
- Additional high-speed motor, pinion and drive gears
- Suspension system parts (additional springs and tie rods)
- Two sets of tires (slicks and treads)

Revell has just announced a deal with Wal-Mart to sell the RPMz Racing System. RPMz will be available at 2,500 Wal-Mart stores across America beginning March 1st. Suggested retail price is $69.99.
My 14 year old son, Caleb, had the following to say:
What I liked about this car was the ability to change the settings. The steering and throttle had knobs on the remove control to change them. I changed the motor and that was very easy. It is also very fast, and handles very well.
12 year old Chad checks in with these comments:
I like this car because:
- It’s fast
- It’s durable
- The interchangable parts
- It’s able to burn out on hard wood floors
- It can do donuts on hard wood floors
What’s that? What about “my” driving impressions? I’ll let you know, just as soon as I get to actually DRIVE it!

Is this car like the Kyosho Mini-Z R/C MR01?
If I knew what in the dickens a “Kyosho Mini-Z R/C MR01″ was, I’d be glad to tell you. It’s 1/24 scale, so it’s not very “mini”.
The Kyosho Mini-Z was released in 2001, and the RPMz R/C car looks and feels just like it. The ‘iWaver’ R/C is a Mini-Z clone from China, and can take Kyosho parts… I wonder if the RPMz is the same ‘type’ of car, and can take Mini-Z parts?

Also, feel free to google ‘kyosho mini-z’ for more info. The Mini-Z is a 1/26 to 1/24 scale car, depending on the body model.
You will find that the XMODS Gen. 1 and Evolution Gen. 2 R/C cars (Radio Shack) are not at all like the Mini-Z, or iWaver; however, I will just have to buy a RPMz and see if Revell licenced the Kyosho Mini-Z for it’s own use – which would be cool, since the Mini-Z is 100% pro quality, not like the toy-like XMODS. I also have XMODS, and I must say that the Gen. 2 Evolution has improved; I wonder if they’ll keep it up with a Gen. 3. Don’t think so.
Please post some detailed photos of your car, not the body, but the ‘guts’… thanks.
I still can’t find the RPMz in stores?
