I love the idea of the Saturday night special at Bristol for the seniors. Go, Cale!
Speaking of old timers, One of my favorite Ford Fanatics of years past, Dave Dionne, is working on a short track crate motor program (Courtesy GreenWhiteChecker.com)
A win by a Mopar is always cool. A win by Mark or Bill would be even better. I know that a few weeks ago, I asked Geoff to stay home, but if you are staying current and are in a competitive ride, go for it.
If you would like to join my friends list at Facebook, please mention this column. If you go there, be careful there may be a pie in the air. Get the door, it’s Dominos!
Okay now we have the Miller Lite Dodge, but somehow the Budweiser Dodge just does not have the same ring. How about UPS? It was Ford, then Toyota and now back to Ford.
Driving a Kia beats walking!!!
Latest find of neat sites, www.greenwhitechecker.com A good source for Northern New England racing news. There’s more to New England than just NHIS.
Who ever thought you would see Tom Curley and his ACT crew run on the mile at NHIS. It will be a fall race and an invitational.
Tom’s crew and I go back to the Fast Friend’s era. Tom was the first and only sanctioning body to recognize the group. We had lots of local support from media and local tracks also. It was a lot of fun with get togethers at the track. Several trade shows donated space and we had a good relationship with Rev. Pat Evans of Racing With Jesus Ministries. Even had a Plymouth Volare pace car. We did our best to bring awareness of alcoholism to the sport. Sadly it folded after a three year run.
I have a friend in N.C. academic circles! Hello Don and welcome to the family.
In its past life, this column was describled as being part spirituality, part racing history and a dose of humor. My goal here is to be like friend chicken and clam cakes. An aquired taste, but fun!
Have you ever seen a flathead powered late model?
My friend Robyn is one of racing’s cutest columinsts.
Red clam chowder is a waste of perfectly good clams.
Did you know that 4 cyl cars once competed on the high banks of Daytona?
The last time I left the sport, I went into model railroading. I am the proud owner of the Springfield Southern Railroad. It isa 14×25 ft HO scale layout based in this area. What does that have in common with racing? It will absorb $$ as fast as you can make them. Like racing, I like my locomotives old and weird. My current favorite is a CF7 in Pioneer Valley railroad colors.
I hope Mike’s father is doing better.
Honk if you remember, Bob Gada Sr. driving a Ford at Thompson, Ct.
