Grandly understated, there have been a lot of changes in the NASCAR world over the last few months, particularly in the Sprint Cup Series.
So, you might have some concern or confusion about the Sprint Cup cars you’ll see at Daytona, and who’s in them.
We’re here to help you out.
We thought we’d put together a little chart of who’s who and who’s where for the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series… thanks, applause is not necessary. This chart is of the full time teams we know of, and is subject to change.
UPDATE: Added Bobby Labonte as the driver of the #96 HOF/Yates Ask.Com Ford for 2009 on 1/14/09 @ 4:09 PM.

This information was gathered from sources on the Internet. If you want to know much, much more about these teams, and other part-time teams who might be running the Sprint Cup Series in 2009, I would recommend Jayski’s 2009 Silly Season chart.

Mike, this is great. I was hoping that somebody would put together a chart like this. I need to pin this up and put it on my wall to keep track. Thanks.
No problem, Sadie… it’s hard to know the players without a scorecard. Someone have any ideas as to who I should root for in ’09, especially if Bobby Labonte doesn’t get a ride? I like the mature class act drivers … Dale Jarrett, Jeff Burton, Bobby…. I’m trying to find a younger driver who is also a class act…. open to suggestions. Leave yours here!
Also, any corrections will be appreciated, too, but I’m probably not going to keep up with this list on a ongoing basis.
The list will be handy for anyone who watch the races. Nascar has out lived the sport. I have given up on nascar as it is rich man and spoiled driver sport. Everyone should focus on the trucks or the real sport of dirt. The average family can afford the dirt tracks and have a better time.
I agree with Lawrence 100%.
The last NASCAR weekend events I was going to in Fontana,Ca was cancelled dut to smoke from the fires near by.
I was left holding a weekends worth of tickets for my family. There was no rain check issued.
I refuse to see another NASCAR race! I was always around a tv to watch the races. NOT ANYMORE!
From now on….I’ll stick to attending the local dirt track.
Mike: What a great idea the chart is. It gives us info to keep available as we await the start of the race season and let’s us know what is going on so far. Thank you. Barbara
This is absolutely insane! I think we are in the last days of NASCAR! This economy is going to destroy our sport unless we act!
Personally I think NASCAR should have, at least, ONE dirt track to bring a little spice to our sport. How about a mile on dirt for the players? Maybe dirt for the chase??
