Under the terms of the agreement, ESPN Deportes Radio will provide up-to-the minute NASCAR news and information, highlighted with coverage of NASCAR’s three largest racing series - the NEXTEL Cup, the Busch Series and the Craftsman Truck Series. The agreement will provide ESPN Deportes Radio exclusive access to a vast amount of content that will fuel ESPN Deportes Radio’s NASCAR coverage beginning with the 2006 season.

“This agreement clearly underscores ESPN’s leadership in bringing NASCAR racing to the Hispanic community,” said Keller. “Our current television agreement grants ESPN Deportes TV exclusive rights to NASCAR programming and it was a natural next step to expand the relationship to radio. With the growing popularity of NASCAR racing in the Hispanic community, we look forward to becoming the primary destination for the Spanish-speaking fans.”

“Thanks to this groundbreaking agreement, Latino NASCAR fans now have a radio home for exclusive daily NASCAR race updates, news and information,” said Hyatt. “ESPN Deportes will help enhance the sport’s appeal and build a stronger and more diverse fan base for NASCAR racing. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with ESPN Deportes Radio, and will work closely with them to make this relationship a long-term success.”

“This announcement is cause to celebrate for a variety of reasons,” said Oscar Ramos,” senior director, general manager, ESPN Deportes Radio. “By adding NASCAR content we have made a tremendous enhancement to our motorsports programming line-up. This is also a great first step in the effort for ESPN Deportes Radio and MRN Radio to jointly provide more NASCAR content to a marketplace that has historically been underserved.”

Motorsports publisher Coastal 181 announced the release of their latest title, DAREDEVILS OF THE FRONTIER, a thoroughly researched history of big car and midget racing in Western New York. Written by Keith S. Herbst, an open wheel fan since attending races at the Buffalo Civic Stadium as a child, the book has been in development for over three years and will surely become a racing classic.

While many midget and sprint car books have a national theme, DAREDEVILS focuses on open wheel racing across the Niagara Frontier, a region of Western New York bordered by Ohio, Pennsylvania and Canada. Buffalo’s Civic Stadium was the crown jewel of the Frontier and it was there that the traveling warriors from the Midwest met the top shoes from the East in some of the most outrageous automotive shootouts of all times. Herbst documents the complete history of racing at the Stadium and profiles virtually all of the swash-buckling, Cromwell-helmeted performers-from glamorous heroes such as Bill Schindler and Dave Randolph, to colorful owners like Pappy Hough and Ken Hickey, to antiheroes like the mysterious Diego “Dee” Toran. DAREDEVILS OF THE FRONTIER explores in depth the dynamics of racing in the thirties, forties, and fifties and provides detailed statistics on the era-from feature wins to championships to a very sobering summation of fatalities.

DAREDEVILS is the eleventh motorsports book published by Coastal 181. The firm offers titles on current drivers, including GOTTA RACE! (the autobiography of Ken Schrader) and Where Stars Are Born (the story of NASCAR’s top short-trackers), as well as books with a historical focus such as RICHIE! (the Richie Evans story) and PAVED TRACK DIRT TRACK (on Old Bridge(NJ) Speedway and Nazareth(PA) Raceway).

DAREDEVILS OF THE FRONTIER is now available for shipping, in plenty of time for Christmas. A hardcover volume with 192 pages and over 350 photographs, it is priced at $39.95 plus $6.00 for S&H and can be ordered online at www.coastal181.com or by calling 877-907-8181 toll free.
