Did I like the race? Oh, maybe about 20 minutes of it late in the time slot, but the first 2/3rds was a sleeper.
I’m saving all my energy for next week’s race…..in Daytuna.
Da Case: Well, we figured that CaseOfMears was gonna get the hatchet sooner or later, and it happened sooner than expected. He shoulda pulled the plug a few weeks ago when the rumor started, because the smoke with this rumor obviously had some fire behind it. However, Case is well respected in the garage, and will get a good ride for next year. What I can’t understand is that the Rickster is so well respected, yet he dumps drivers with so little regard. Who knows…..the great Gordo could be next if he doesn’t improve his performance level. Putting humor aside, I would expect Lefarte be the next Hendrick team member to get the axe. If Gordo has any dreams of getting another Championship, he needs to find a more fitting crew chief.
More Smoke: With the seat of the 5 car opening up, our ole bud Smoke mentioned that he just might look at it. Ah, but this could be just another smoke screen…..as he may have already nailed the CNC deal. Smoke may be driven to own his own team, but if you look at NA$CAR history, only a mere handful of owner/drivers have successfully pulled this feat off. If he dives into this shallow pool head first, he just may end up being the next MikieWaltrip.
Da Kid: Frankly, I’m getting a tad sick of hearing so many stories about KidKyle. We get Kyle stuff thrown at us ad nauseum, and I’m about ready to barf. I’m sure many of you feel the same way about Jr., but I tend to let those stories roll off my back. He can’t help it that the public has chosen him as the Golden Child.
Da Race: For 2/3rds of the race, it was a ‘ho-hummer’. Then the action picked up. First AJ’s engine blew, then 8 laps later his team mate (McDowell) had the same fate. A few laps later, the 8 car got spun by the 9 car. A few laps later, the 9 car got spun by the 8 car. Payback? You betcher bippy…..
Disengaged Brain: With a mere 30 laps to go, and most cars needing petrol, Jr. decided to come in somewhat early. As he was entering pit road, JamieMac must’ve had a brain fart, cuz he rammed right into Jr’s rear end, spinning him around. DavieRagan got a piece of the action, too, when he nicked the wounded 26 car. All of this was mindless damage and shouldn’t have happened if JamieMac had been minding his business. In an interview, he indicated that usually his spotter would’ve warned him of impending disaster, but this obviously didn’t happen.
The Gamble: During the above yellow, many came in and got fuel only, probably due to the threatening weather. Most of the bottom feeders stayed out, cuz they didn’t have anything to lose. After the restart, and with 22 laps to go, Bowowyer and Hornish got into it, causing the last yellow. However, leading up to this, Pablo and KidKyle were having their own personal war about who was going to occupy a certain piece of the track. Da Kid did his share of nudging, then the top of the teapot shot off, and Pablo deliberately turned Da Kid. It was so obvious that Pablo may get a visit to the NA$CAR trailer, but it certainly spiced up the end of the race.
Rain drops: During the last yellow, the sky unfolded, and rain started coming down. They had previously shown us how large the storm front was, so it didn’t take NA$CAR long to pull the plug on the race. Now here comes the part I don’t particularly care for….. The top six cars were all bottom feeders that were trying to finish the race on fumes. They didn’t race for the win, they gambled on it. So you have some really second, third, and fourth rated cars up front and taking in the glory. I can understand Kurt’s situation, but Mikie should hang his head in shame for even thinking that he deserved a second place finish. Anyway, finishes like this sorta disgust me, and want me to watch wrestling….just kidding about the wrestling.
Phones: So as I’m finishing up this Track Trash, I learn that my land-line phones are dead, including my DSL line that I send emails with So now I have time to ponder the outcome of the race, and reflect on how my local phone company won’t be advertising via NA$CAR next year. Thanks, AT&T….

Your a hoot dude! Im with you on the Kylie stuff, I was hoping Montoya would do what needs to be done with Krybaby Kylie after the race but as you know nothin happened, bummer! And Kylies victim act is more sicking than he is, how much more as stock-car racing fans do we have to endure with this punk kid, and Im just quoting Jimmy Spencer, he thinks there are punk kids in this new driver era, I agree!
Casey Mears needs a good case of aggression in his diet to go with the talent he already has. He is raw meat on the track among a pack of hungry wolves. It’s called getting up on the wheel.
Jeff Gordon needs to get a new crew chief for sure. He also needs to get his head back in the game and out of his…….
KidKyle..I believe everyone will soon realize why Hendrick canned him. When he continues finishing races driving wrecks because other drivers are tired of the punk, his standing will drop like a ton of bricks.
