Veteran illustrator highlights race weekend storylines
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Matt Dorton, whose feature cartoon TRACK LAUGHS takes a peek at the often humorous side of NASCAR throughout the season, has partnered with Daytona International Speedway to offer fans a unique look at the upcoming Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola.
Putting over 20 years of cartoon experience to work, Dorton will tackle DIS race weekend storylines such as patriot paint schemes, multiple ticket packages, and other topics in a fun and unusual way – via the cartoon.

“I’ve been expressing my thoughts through cartoons for more than 20 years,” said the Freelance Artist who has provided artwork for everything from stock car paint scheme concepts to website graphics. “This project is a fun and unique way to provide fans with a preview of what to expect when they visit Daytona for the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola Weekend.”
“What a different and fun way to show fans what we have in store for them in July,” said Speedway President Robin Braig. “We’re excited to be able to showcase Matt’s unique perspective to highlight our Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola Weekend.”
Aside from his duties as a Graphic Designer with Motorsports Authentics, Dorton’s TRACK LAUGHS has appeared in NASCAR SCENE, NASCAR ILLUSTRATED and Chicken Soup for the NASCAR Soul. His work can be seen at his website www.mattdorton.net.
