4,227 miles, 3 racing events and 1 driver. Does he think he’s Superman?
Kyle Busch is showing everyone that he can drive a car and that he has some talent. At times, in my opinion, he tends to take chances and pull risky moves on the track. These risky moves could get him, and others around him in serious trouble. I think this week, he may be biting off just a little more than he can chew, as he attempts to drive in three events, in three different race sites.
Kyle Busch’s schedule of said events:
1st- Busch will qualify at Pocono
2nd- Busch will fly to Texas for the truck race on Friday night.
3rd- Next he will fly to Nashville for the Saturday race
4th- He will fly back to Pennsylvania for the Sunday Cup event.
How can one person do this, short of having a twin or clone of themselves? The answer is simple. Ever heard that song with the words “Have a little help, from my friends…”. He’ll use a little help from J.R. Norris and Will Allen. Norris will practice and qualify for Busch for the truck race, Will Allen will also do the same for the Nationwide race.
4,227 miles later, “Rowdy Busch” will be “Rundown Busch” when it’s all over. Busch will drive 592 laps for a total of 1,050 miles. Then he will fly a total of 3,177 miles when you include the distance from his home base in Mooresville, NC to Pocono, Fort Worth, Nashville then back to Pocono for the 500 race.
Why would a driver put himself through this? Does this type behavior go right along with his cocky attitude? Is he trying to prove something? Maybe he is trying to show Nascar fans that he thinks he is the best of the best. Maybe he should just focus on the Cup race. After all, it’s not a track he dominates at. Busch has 0 wins, one top-five and a 16.167 average finish. Maybe he needs to do his homework and not spread himself so thin.
Drivers that are no stranger to Pocono include Stewart(1 win & 13 top 10′s), Martin(3 wins & 29 top 10′s), Newman(1 win, 2 poles & 6 top 10′s), Johnson(2 wins & 7 top 10′s) and Elliot(5 wins).
Settle down folks, I didn’t forget Hamlin. Hamlin’s record at Pocono is more than impressive. Fantasy Players take notice. Denny has made 4 starts, earning 2 poles, 2 wins, 4 top 10′s and an awesome average finish of 2.750.
Kyle Busch has been on a hot streak, but will this demanding schedule takes it toll on the young driver?
Kyle’s Hot Streak In Last 5 Races:
5 Starts
1st Best Finish
3rd Worst Finish
4.2 Average Start
1.6 Average Finish
Pocono Results For Kyle Busch:
6 Starts
4th Best Finish
39th Worst Finish
16.2 Average Finish
Finishing Positions- (4th, 39th, 22nd, 12th, 8th and 12th)
Like him or dislike him, you have to agree, the young man can drive. He does take chances, and lacks maturity but he does have talent. While he’s not one of my favorite drivers, I do have to set my personal feelings aside and look at the stats and facts. The guy can put up some good numbers. My concern is, could this three event schedule be too demanding for even a young driver like him? Will he be exhausted with the two events by the time he even gets to the Cup event? Only time will tell.

I am not particularly a fan of Kyle Busch, but he seems to have his driving down pat. If you are in a fantasy league and don’t pick Kyle, it would appear that you have more money than brains.
go get em kyle you do have fans out there and more are coming just you watch
OK, let me take a deep breath, OK now Im ready. Kyle is a good driver, just good , not the best. Of my 40 years in this sport I have witnessed some other drivers in the past that have gone thru a winning streak close tto Kyles this year, it only lasted for a while then they struggled to have the same success they once experienced. Nobody can and ever will dominate NASCAR for an extended period of time. They come and they go, its all really short lived. He will crash and burn! they all have in the past and Kyle is certainly no better than anybody else! Just look at Hendrick Motorsports and the success they had last year, this year they struggle, and its not because Kyle was replaced by Jr. Kyle wasnt much of a factor in Hendricks stable last year, thats why he was replaced with a driver of more experience and class. So Kyle, just enjoy what you have for now, you wont have it forever, and take an old fools advise, you really need to take time to smell the roses, lifes to short to burnout in just a short while. And in response to djs comment, yeah we can see all Kylles fans, both of you stand erect under the flag stand, whats that? Oh ,I couldnt hear from all the booing for Kyle!

Well, I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t think that Rick Hendrick thought he wasted his money and equipment all those years. I mean, Kid Kyle did give him a few blurbs in the “history” books. 1) Kyle was the youngest NASCAR Cup winner 2) Kyle won the 1st COT race 3) Kyle gave Hendrick their 200th win 4) Kyle gave Chevy their 600th win, and I am sure their is more their. Plus, Kyle didn’t only win twice. He had (off the top of my head, I’m not positive) 4 wins for Hendrick all before he was 22. As for being replaced with a more experienced and classy driver, yea, Junior has years on him. And he is a different driver than Kyle, that is OK…But Hendrick let go of Kyle for other reasons. 1) to honor Earnhardt Senior and his respect for him. 2) to give Junior something he has been asking for (an owner who’s at the track, guides Junior in his companies and is a father figure.) 3) Financial. Everyone knew whoever picked up Junior a lot of money and press comes with him. So, don’t think it was because of experience and class. Junior is 10 years OLDER than Kyle, he should be more mature. Junior is a different type of guy, taht is OK. We all don’t like the Mark Martins in the world. Some like the Robby Gordons and the Tony Stewarts and the Kurt Busch’s OHHH and the KYLE BUSCH’S!!!! Anyway, I am done. I just can’t wait til Junior wins, so every Junior Nation can say “….See told ya sooooo!!!!!”
