Michelle Theriault To Run Truck At Kansasby Chuck Abrams ~ April 24th, 2008. Filed under: Press Releases. |
Mooresville, N.C. (April 23, 2008) - With the hopes of competing in the 2008 O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway, Michelle Theriault has aligned with Rick Markle Racing for the April 26th Craftsman Truck Series race.
The 22-year old Theriault be qualifying the number 73 truck for the same team that has entered Jennifer Jo Cobb in the number 74 truck.
“Rick and Del Markle have been longtime supporters of me and my career. They offered me the chance to test in one of their cars at Daytona and I jumped at the opportunity.”
As a driver, Rick Markle made starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Craftsman Truck Series and in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series. Currently, he is focusing his attention on building his Rick Markle Racing team into a full-time competitor. “I really appreciate what their entire organization has done for me.”
Michelle’s association with RMR includes competing against Rick in the USAR Pro Cup series and last year his father Del was the engine tuner for her team in the ARCA and Busch East Series.
Nitrofill will be on board as an associate sponsor and the team is still actively pursuing primary sponsorship for Theriault. The opportunity for a primary sponsor is open for the Kansas race as well as of the remainder of the season. Michelle is looking to run several more races in the Craftsman Truck Series but that will be decided by what the team can arrange for sponsorship. Theriault says, “I am excited for this opportunity and realize my main goal is to gain seat time so by the end of this season I will be ready to run at every track for the entire truck season in 2009.”

She also competed in six ARCA RE/MAX Series races. This year while hoping to run several truck races, Michelle is also running a NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model at Greenville-Pickens Speedway with Addis Motorsports.
