Sellout of “The Great American Race” is earliest in modern history
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona International Speedway officials announced that all grandstand seats for the historic 50th Running of the 2008 Daytona 500 have been sold.
While all grandstand seats are sold out, fans can still purchase infield tickets for “The Great American Race”, scheduled for Feb. 17. In addition to infield tickets, fans can still experience the festivities of other exciting events surrounding the historic 50th running of the Daytona 500 by purchasing tickets to other exciting DIRECTV Speedweeks events including:

Fans lucky enough to have purchased their tickets for the event will see Brooks & Dunn, the most awarded duo in country music history with more than 80 industry awards including 20 Country Music Association Awards and 26 Academy of Country Music Awards highlight the highly acclaimed Sprint Pre-Race Show – the heart-pumping, one-of-a-kind pre-race prelude to a sold-out crowd at the most anticipated event in racing history – the historic 50th running of the Daytona 500. Chubby Checker, Kool & the Gang and Michael McDonald will also perform.
In addition, seven-time Daytona 500 Champion Richard Petty will serve as the Honorary Starter and the Thunderbirds will perform the fly-over prior to the historic event.
