TV Times - Rolex 24 At Daytona To Be Broadcast in HD On FOX Sports and SPEED HD

TV Times, by Lou Modestino   The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 will continue its relationship with SPEED for 2008, with the motorsports channel broadcasting 62.5 hours of Rolex Series competition in the U.S., Canada and Mexico and the Rolex Series broadcast around the world on a variety of major networks – complete with the Rolex Series debut in high-definition television.


Beginning with an opening 90 minutes of the Rolex 24 At Daytona broadcast over-the-air by FOX Sports and topped by an additional 15.5 hours of coverage of the race on the cable network, SPEED cameras will roll at all 15 events on the Rolex Series calendar. For the second consecutive season, FOX Sports will open the Rolex Series season with the opening coverage of the famed twice-around-the-clock race from the “World Center of Racing” before making a driver change of its own and passing the coverage to SPEED.

For the first time, the coverage of the Rolex 24 At Daytona will be broadcast in high-definition on FOX Sports and SPEED HD, where available.

Internationally, coverage of the Rolex Sports Car Series will be broadcast in Europe, Latin America and South America on SportKlub and SPEED Latin America. The ESPN family of networks will distribute the Rolex Sports Car Series around the world with one-hour highlight programs on ESPN Latin America, ESPN+, and ESPN Dos throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, ESPN Atlantic, Israel and Orbit, and ESPN Pacific Rim and Australia.

The Grand American Road Racing Association, which operates and sanctions the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 and the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series, is the premier road racing organization in North America. The 15-race 2008 Rolex Series and the 11-race KONI Challenge Series calendars deliver professional sports car racing to key markets throughout North America in addition to being televised in the United States and Canada on SPEED and distributed globally through ESPN International.
